How do I use TuneIn Radio & Podcasts?

Starting the TuneIn Radio & Podcasts activity

There are different ways you can launch TuneIn Radio & Podcasts in the Discord app for you and your friends, whether in a server’s voice channel, in a direct message (DM), or a group message. You can check out Activities on Discord for more information about Activities and instructions on how to start any Activity.

Before starting any Discord Activity on Desktop, please make sure to turn on Hardware Acceleration in User Settings > Advanced.

Hosting and sharing

By default, the person who starts the TuneIn Radio & Podcasts activity is the host. In Hosting Mode, only the host can play or stop stations, and fast-forward or rewind podcasts.

The host can also hand off hosting control to anyone in the group. If at any time the host leaves, host control will randomly be assigned to another participant in the activity. 

If the host wants to allow others in the group to control playback, they can toggle to Sharing Mode. When sharing, everyone in the activity can control what’s playing. We recommend Hosting when in big groups and Sharing when in small groups.

Adjusting your personal volume

Each person can set and control their own volume for the TuneIn Radio & Podcasts activity. The volume control will not affect any voice channel or system volume levels. 

Saving to your personal library

You can favorite a station or podcast by tapping the heart icon on that station's or podcast's profile page. Alternatively, you can tap the heart icon on the Now Playing screen. 

You can find all your Favorites in your Library by clicking on the heart-shaped menu item at the top of the Activity.

Your favorites are only visible to you. As you use TuneIn Radio & Podcasts across different servers and channels, you can take your favorites with you.
